Zero round

A zero round (common term in Austria: zero wage round ) is a collective bargaining round without an increase in the wages received. In a zero round, the salaries / allowances remain at the old value. Usually this means that there is a real loss of income due to inflation .

In the figurative sense, one also speaks of a zero round if, for example, pensions or social benefits are not increased within a year.
