Nuraghe Serbissi

The Nuraghe Serbissi ( ID no. 1050135657-MIBAC) is over 900 m high and is located on the Tacco plateau, above the valley of the Rio Taquisara in Osini , north of Ulassai in the Ogliastra in the province of Nuoro in Sardinia . The special feature of the nuragic complex from the 18th – 10th centuries Century BC BC consists in the fact that it was built near a natural limestone cave with two entrances.

The nurage complex, which was built and used in the Bronze Age , consists of a central tower (mastio) made up of regular rows of blocks 6.3 m high, which is closely flanked by three smaller towers of different heights, connected to each other by a curved wall bastion in the shape of a tholos which are the foundations of eight, partly very large round huts. Access is through a small courtyard. The access to the main tower leads to a corridor with a trapezoidal cross-section, which becomes higher towards the chamber, through which one reaches a staircase with 28 preserved steps and the round chamber 4.3 m in diameter with two niches.

There are two giant tombs near the nuraghe .
