Nurly Tau ( Kazakh Нұрлы Тау ) is a multifunctional building complex in the Kazakh city of Almaty .
Construction phase
In 2005, Kazakhstan's largest construction company, Bazis-A, was commissioned to implement this ambitious project. During the construction, we worked closely with earthquake safety specialists . The simulations showed that the building is earthquake-proof up to an earthquake of magnitude eight on the Richter scale .
The completion of the individual buildings of the complex was delayed, some parts were completed in 2008, other buildings could not be opened until 2014.
investment
The Nurly Tau building complex has an area of eight hectares and is located in the southeast of Almaty. The design of the buildings should reflect the shapes of the surrounding mountains. In order to intensify this effect, a special glass was used that appears blue-gray. The tallest building in the complex is called Nurly Tau 1 and, with 28 floors, reaches a height of 109 meters. This makes it the second tallest building in Almaty.
use
Nurly Tau is designed as a city within a city with numerous apartments, offices, dining options, entertainment facilities and shops. In addition to Kazakh companies, several European companies are also represented in Nurly Tau. Halyk Bank , ATFBank and Mitsubishi Corporation, among others , have an office in the complex.
rating
The assessment of the building complex is mixed. On the one hand, the project was awarded, including the Grand Prize of the Kazakh Architecture Union, on the other hand, there is also criticism of the concept, for example due to the high traffic density.
