Nuwaiba ( Arabic نويبع, Nuwaibaʿ ; Spelling in German also Nuweiba ) is an Egyptian port city on the Gulf of Aqaba on the Sinai peninsula . In addition to a few hotels, there are the Bedouin beaches Tarabeen and Muzeina in front of Nuweiba, named after the respective tribe.
There are two ferries that go to Aqaba daily. They are mainly used by Arab truck drivers and travelers who are traveling by truck, bus or car from Libya and Egypt to Jordan and Syria , as well as by Muslim pilgrims on their way to Mecca and by study tour groups who visit Jordan and especially the Want to visit the rock city of Petra .
The place itself emerged from the former moshav Neviot , which was created during the Israeli occupation of the area after the Six Day War from 1971 .
