history
The company was founded by Jack O'Neill founded in 1952 in San Francisco. Starting with the garage sale, his company differed from those of other in that it, in addition to surfboards started wetsuits to create and sell, making the boom of surfing only really began. The company is therefore often associated with the invention of the wetsuit. Jack's son Pat, who took over the management from his father at an advanced age, is the inventor of the nylon cord that is attached to the surfer's leg to prevent the surfboard from drifting off. In an accident caused by such a cord, Jack O'Neill lost vision in one eye in 1971 and 1972, respectively. In 2007, the rights to use the O'Neill clothing brand were sold to the Dutch Logo International group.
