ORAT

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ORAT is the abbreviation for Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer and describes the dress rehearsal for a newly built airport (German: operational readiness and airport transfer ).

The term, which comes from English, is used in particular for the preparatory work of BER in the media. During this test, the construction management and the airport operator deploy a large number of volunteers ( extras ) who run through all conceivable scenarios in airport buildings in order to be able to discover and eliminate (last) weak points.
