Oberkampf was a French punk rock band that existed from 1979 to 1985 and has been on tour again since 2000.
history
It was founded by Joe Hell (vocals), Pat Kebra (guitar), Buck-Dali (bass) and Dominik Descoubes (drums). After the first single release Couleurs Sur Paris in February 1981, Oberkampf signed a record deal with Virgin Records , where the first album PLC ( Plein Les Couilles ) was released in 1982, followed by Cris Sans Thèmes in 1985, shortly before their temporary dissolution. In 2000 the band formed again and recorded the 2003 album Animal Factory .
Oberkampf was known for their anti-nationalist attitude, which was expressed, among other things, in the fact that the band burned the French flag during a live performance and in the fact that their song La Marseillaise is accompanied by pig grunts, as well as their call to resistance against state institutions in Couleurs sur Paris .
