Yerevan trolleybus
The Yerevan trolleybus is the only trolleybus operator in Armenia today . The trolleybus service is operated by the transport company Yergortrans and today consists of five lines 1, 2, 9, 10 and 15.
history
The trolleybus service in the capital Yerevan was opened on August 16, 1949 and today complements the Yerevan Metro, which opened in 1981 .
The vast majority of vehicles of the Czech type Škoda 14 Tr are used, but there are also some Russian VZTM-5280 and used trolleybuses taken over from Lyon . The operation used to be much more extensive, at times 300 cars ran on 20 lines.
Another Armenian trolleybus operation previously existed in Gyumri , this existed from 1962 to 2005.
