The Supreme Court of the Philippines (phil .: Kataas-taasang Hukuman ng Pilipinas or Korte Suprema ) is the highest judicial authority in the Philippines . The court consists of 14 associate judges and one presiding judge . All judges are appointed by the President of the Republic based on recommendations from the Philippine Bar Association. Anyone who can be appointed judge at the Supreme Court
- is a Filipino citizen by birth,
- is at least 40 years old and
- served as a judge in a lower instance for at least 15 years.
The term of office of the appointed judges is unlimited in time, but ends according to the constitution at the latest when they reach the age of 70.
The Constitutional Court complex is located on Taft Avenue at the corner of Padre Faura Street in Manila 's Ermita District .
