The Objects. Journal for Applied Arts is a magazine that deals with trends and new approaches in the field of contemporary handicrafts, applied arts as well as design and quality production, such as u. a. Illustration, graphic design, textile art, ceramics, furniture design, glass and book art.

The magazine sees itself as a culture journal with a special look at the particular “material culture” and the individuals behind it. The topic of the importance of materiality and the future of handicrafts and handicraft-oriented design as well as their social relevance are the leitmotifs of the journal, which is particularly characterized by its elaborate photo series and contributions by renowned actors and experts in the field.

The Objects Journal was founded in 2008 by Pascal Johanssen and Katja Kleiss. It is published by the non-profit Illustrative e. V. in Berlin.
