Object field

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The so-called object field corresponds to the real size of the visible image in the microscope.

It depends on the field of view number , which in turn, for eyepieces in light microscopy , indicates the diameter of the object field multiplied by the magnification of the objective in millimeters . The larger the number of fields of view, the larger the object field. A special form of the object field is the so-called main field of view with a more or less defined size.
