Chazuke

Chazuke ( Japanese 茶 漬 け ), also known as Ochazuke ( お 茶 漬 け ), is a simple Japanese dish made from rice with tea added. In the Kyoto area , Chazuke is called Bubuzuke ( ぶ 漬 け ).

Chazuke can be compared to milk and cereals in Europe and America. Hot green tea is often used as tea , sometimes hot water or dashi (a broth) instead of tea . Barley tea is also taken in summer . Other ingredients that are used include umeboshi , tsukemono , ketal salmon , nori , tsukudani , shiokara , wasabi or tarako .
