Oddný Guðmundsdóttir

Oddný Guðmundsdóttir (born February 15, 1908 on the farm Hóll , † 1985 ) was an Icelandic writer.

Life

Oddný was born on the Hóll farm in the far northeast of Iceland. She attended secondary school in Akureyri and graduated in 1929. She enjoyed further training in Sweden , Switzerland and Denmark . She then worked as a teacher in Iceland and was the last hiking teacher to teach Icelandic children in remote regions of the country. She later lived on the Ingimarsstaðir farm in northeast Iceland.

From 1943 she published several novels. In addition, she also wrote short stories and radio plays .
