The Odos Irodou Attikou ( Greek Οδός Ηρώδου Αττικού , oˈðos iˈroðu atiˈku ) runs east of the center of the Greek capital Athens and borders the National Garden . The street is named after the ancient rhetorician, politician and patron Herodes Atticus .

Course:

The three-lane one-way street begins at the Leoforos Vasilissis Sofias (Λεωφόρος Βασιλίσσης Σοφίας) in the north and runs south to the Leoforos Vasileos Konstantinou (Λεωφόρος Βασιλέως Κωνστατντντντντντντν).

Building:

The land prices along the street are by far the highest in Greece and the street is one of the most expensive streets in Europe. The street, which is only five blocks on the east side, is lined with luxury apartments and villas, including the Kronprinzenpalais , which is now the official residence of the President , and the Villa Maximos (the official residence of the Greek Prime Minister ). Kolonaki , an elegant neighborhood for the affluent, joins it to the north, the National Garden borders the street to the west and the Panathinaiko Stadium joins it to the southeast. The Presidential Guard barracks are the only buildings on the west side of the street. The street is constantly under heavy guard by uniformed and plainclothes police officers.
