The Jorkanden is a mountain in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh .
The 6,473 m high mountain is located in the western Himalayas in the Kinnaur district north of the Sangla valley and east of the town of Kalpa in the Satluj valley . The Jorkanden is the highest mountain in the Kinnaur-Kailash chain . The holy mountain Kinnaur Kailash is located 5.5 km southeast of Jorkanden .
The Jorkanden was first climbed in 1974 by an expedition of the Indian-Tibetan border police from the northeast.
