description

The Mosquito is a wire-guided anti-tank missile. It weighs 11.5 kilograms and can be used from 1500 to 1800 meters. It is intended for infantry use and is transported and operated by one person. The transport container contains two MOSQUITO with dismantled wings. Shortly before use, the wings are quickly attached. A simple support lifts the front part of the rocket and is adjustable according to the desired launch angle. The minimum impact angle of the detonator is 15 °.

The missile is guided on the principle of target coverage with the help of an optical system (binoculars) and the steering device. Control unit and rocket launcher are connected by a cable with a maximum length of 25 meters. A very thin multiple cable transmits the control commands to the rocket. The flight of the rocket is gyro-stabilized, it has no roll in the longitudinal axis.

A solid propulsion unit serves as the drive. It is a two-stage engine with a launch engine and a cruise engine in one unit. The launch engine accelerates the rocket for 0.8 seconds until a speed of 85 m / s is reached. Then this speed is kept constant by the cruise engine. The warhead of the Mosquito is a shaped charge head with great effectiveness, the penetration power on armored steel is over 500 mm.
