Furnace plant

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The furnace works is an exhibition, event and service center for historical, automotive cultural goods. It is located in the premises of a historic, listed former industrial complex in the northeastern Nuremberg district of Schafhof .

history

The name of the furnace plant originates from the company Riedhammer GmbH, which in 1986 relocated its production of industrial furnaces from Großreuth behind the fortress to the halls of the former Neumeyer company, which was located on the site in 1916, and which repaired the building. In the course of restructuring processes in 2000, production at the Nuremberg location was discontinued. The then managing partner Peter Riedhammer subsequently set up a center for mobile classic with twelve other automobile fans , which today extends over the majority of the approximately 10,000 square meter former factory halls. As a focal point for the regional old and youngtimers scene, the furnace works not only offers an exhibition of more than a hundred vehicles, but also around 40 specialist workshops, factories and various service providers in the automotive industry. Parts of the kiln plant and the culinary facilities can be rented as an event location.
