Open door (youth welfare)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The socio-educational concept of the open door describes the working concept of most children's and youth leisure facilities . Sometimes this also refers to the facilities themselves. The “open door”, often abbreviated as OT, illustrates the openness of the offers for everyone and without registration, in contrast to fixed courses. In many leisure facilities, all doors to supervised rooms are actually open (e.g. to the creative workshop, to the ceramic room).

In addition to "OT", the terms "TOT" (partially open door), "HOT" (half-open door) and "KOT" (small open door) are sometimes used to illustrate different degrees of gradation. In addition to their offers in the OT area, many institutions also have non-open offers (courses).
