Disclosure document

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A laid- open specification (OS) is the first publication of a patent application . It is a preliminary stage to the examined patent specification .

In German patent law, the disclosure document is identified with the font code "A1". The corrected title page of an unexamined patent application has the font code “A8”, a corrected unexamined patent application has the font code “A9”.

Notwithstanding this, published documents at the European Patent Office and for PCT applications have the font codes "A1" (with search report) and "A2" (without search report).
