The ogham stones of Lugnagappul

The Ogham stones of Lugnagappul stand on a field called Páirc na Fola ( German  "Field of Blood" ) near the small cairn Cnoc na Fola ("Hill of Blood"), which is said to be the burial place of the men killed in a battle. The townland Lugnagappul ( Irish Log na gCapall , dt. "Cave of the horses") is located on the Dingle Peninsula , south of the S-road N86, east of Dingle and west of Annascaul and belongs to the municipality of Minard ( An Mhin Aird ) in County Kerry in Ireland .

There is a row of three menhirs here , two of which are ogham stones with inscriptions. The north of the two stones is a 40 cm thick, 0.8 m high, neatly rounded rubble stone. It bears the inscription: GOSSUCTTIAS. The other ogham stone is also a rubble stone, but it looks like a menhir because it was split lengthways. The stone is 0.8 m high, 0.45 m wide and 0.24 m thick. On the south side is the inscription: GAMICUNAS
