Oja Kodar

Oja Kodar (originally Olga Palinkas , * 1941 in Dubrava near Zagreb ) is a Croatian actress, screenwriter and director.

Kodar was Orson Welles ' partner for more than twenty years until his death , although the latter always remained married to his third wife, Paola Mori . They met in Zagreb in 1961 when Welles was in town for the filming of The Trial . She assisted him as screenwriter on several of the mostly unfinished projects in Welles' late phase . Oja Kodar worked, among other things, on the script of the film project The Other Side of the Wind, which was not completed during Welles' lifetime, and also played an important role in this film. Furthermore, she was at his side in the unfinished film The Deep (1966-69) and The Secret of Nikola Tesla to see (1980).

After Welles' death, she worked as a filmmaker herself and directed two feature films and the documentary Orson Welles: The One-Man Band .
