The Okinawa Senseki Quasi National Park ( Japanese 沖 縄 戦 跡 国 定 公園 Okinawa Senseki Kokutei Kōen ) is one of over 50 quasi national parks in Japan. The prefecture of Okinawa is responsible for the management of the park. The park was appointed on May 15, 1972 and covers a total area of approx. 5060 ha, consisting of a land area of approx. 3127 ha and a water area of 1930 ha. With the IUCN category V, the park area is a protected landscape / protected area Marine area classified.
The park also serves to commemorate those who fell in the Battle of Okinawa . In addition to the Okinawa Peace Museum, there is also the Himeyuri memorial in the park , which commemorates the girls who were killed in the Himeyuri school squad.
