Pokkuri-Geta ( Japanese ぽ っ く り 下 駄 ), short: Pokkuri ( ぽ っ く り ) are tall Japanese wooden sandals with a heel that tapers towards the front. Pokkuri-Geta are reminiscent of platform shoes . They are mainly worn by girls, but also by maikos ( geisha trainees).

The name comes either from the noise that is made when running, or from the alternative designation Bokuri or Bokkuri ( 木履 , "wooden shoe"). They are also referred to as Koppori (-Geta) ( こ っ ぽ り (下 駄) ), also after their sound. In Kyōto , the Maiko Pokkuri are called Okobo ( お こ ぼ ) and contain bells inside that sound when you walk.

The materials used are often velvet for the strap, the wood of the blue-bell tree or crescent fir for the footbed and that of the chestnut tree for the heel.
