Okrug Gornji

Okrug is a municipality on the west side of the island of Čiovo , Croatia in the Split-Dalmatia County . It is divided into Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji, two traditional Dalmatian villages. Due to its geographical location, it is the center of the Dalmatian small region. It has a mild Mediterranean climate , dense subtropical and Mediterranean vegetation, an archipelago of small islands, small bays and beaches. With its 2,670 hours of sunshine per year, Okrug is one of the most attractive travel destinations in Croatia and has turned into a center for bathing tourism. The proximity to Trogir and Split Airport also contributes to this.

The old settlement of Okrug Gornji is a small fishing port at the end of the beach. Today Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji are tourist centers.
