history

The first Oktoberfest took place in 1950. The initiators were various showmen.

The festival succeeded the Dickericher market. This market with a folk festival was the big festival in the region until the 1930s, but came to an end during the Nazi era.

The hall has had a new host since 2011, whose design and program are increasingly based on the Munich original.

Today the Limburg Oktoberfest is one of the largest folk festivals in all of Hesse. With around 50 feeders and the festival hall, the Limburg Oktoberfest offers an attractive program.
