Olaf Maninger (born October 16, 1964 in Recklinghausen ) is a German cellist .

Olaf Maninger began his studies with János Starker in 1978 and continued them from 1985 to 1991 with Boris Pergamenschikow . He joined the Berliner Philharmoniker as a cellist in 1994 , and has been their solo cellist since 1996.

From 1997 to 2002 Maninger was managing director of the Berliner Philharmoniker GbR. Since the foundation of the Berliner Philharmoniker Foundation in 2002, he has continued to exercise this role as media director and is also a member of the foundation's board of directors. He played a key role in the conception of the Digital Concert Hall and has been managing director of Berlin Phil Media GmbH since 2008. He is also a member of the Ensemble Die 12 Cellisten of the Berliner Philharmoniker.
