Olaf Zimmer (born December 6, 1964 in Wilhelmshaven ) is a German politician of the Die Linke party .

biography

education and profession

Zimmer graduated from a technical college in Osnabrück in 1984. From 1984 to 1988 he studied social education at the FHO in Emden. From 1988 to 1990 he was employed in geriatric care. From 1990 to 1992 he worked in the self-managed bicycle shop "Transvelo" in Leer and from 1992 to 1995 in an anti-fascist info shop in Emden. From 1995 to 2019 he was an educator at the Piepmatzen eV and at the KiTa Bremen . He lives in Bremer Neustadt, is single and has three children.

politics

Zimmer has been politically active since the early 1980s. First in the peace movement, then in the internationalism movement. From 1990 he worked in anti-national groups. He has been a member of the Die LINKE party since 2015 .
In August 2019, he moved up to the citizenship of Bremen via position 10 on the list . He has three children and lives in Bremen Neustadt .

For the Left Party parliamentary group, he is a member of the Bremen workshop works committee , the deputation for health and consumer protection (deputy spokesman) and the committee for citizen participation, civic engagement and advisory boards. He is the inclusion policy spokesman and responsible for interreligious dialogue.
