Old Monk
Old Monk is a rum from India that is generally stored for seven, in rare cases twelve years. It is a dark rum with 42.8 % alcohol by volume and a smell and taste reminiscent of chocolate. Old Monk is produced in Ghaziabad , India .
This rum is available in all parts of India and is now entering the German market. Old Monk is the third best-selling rum worldwide.
Old Monk is sold in bottles between 180 milliliters (“quarter”) and 1 liter, with the 750 milliliter bottle being called “khamba”, which means “whole bottle”.
Old Monk has aroused great interest in the German bar scene with a version of the cocktail Hot Buttered Rum , in which this rum is used.
