Olga Ramos (born July 20, 1918 in Badajoz , Spain , † August 26, 2005 in Madrid , Spain) was a Spanish chanson singer and was revered as the Spanish queen of the couplet .

Life

Olga Ramos was born in Badajoz, Spain, in 1918. In 1929 the family moved to the capital Madrid. Ramos was an avid musician from childhood and later studied voice and violin at the Madrid Conservatory of Music . In 1943 she received her first prize, the Chamber Music Prize of the City of Madrid.

In addition to her work as a chanson singer, she dealt with dramaturgy and was involved in theater and film.

Ramos has made numerous recordings. The chanson singer made famous in Spain through her films, television appearances and live appearances at concerts. She was active until 1999 and performed in her own bar, Las Noches del Cuplé . In 2000 she made her last public appearance at the Fiesta Las Vistillas .

Olga Ramos died in Madrid at the age of 87.
