Olivier Guersent
Olivier Guersent (born March 1962 in Chatou ) is a French civil servant of the European Union and since January 2020 Director General of the Directorate General for Competition (DG COMP).
biography
Olivier Guersent graduated from the Institut d'études politiques de Bordeaux in 1983 . He began his professional career from 1986 to 1992 at the French competition authority. He then moved to the service of European institutions, where he held numerous positions, mainly in the field of competition policy, including as head of cabinet of EU Commissioner Michel Barnier from 2010 to 2014 and then as deputy director general for internal market financial services. From September 2015 to December 2019 he was Director General of DG FISMA. He has been General Director of DG COMP since January 2020.
