Oltchim is a Romanian chemical company with its headquarters in Râmnicu Vâlcea .

The company was founded in 1966 under the company name Combinatul Chimic Rámnicu Vâlcea . In 1990 the previously state-owned company was converted into a joint-stock company and was named Oltchim . The main products are various polymers , sodium hydroxide and organic compounds .

The Romanian state holds a majority stake of 54.8% in the company. In 2001 and 2012 privatization failed. In January 2013, Oltchim was declared insolvent and took over the administration of state assets (AAAS).
