Olympiades is an underground station and is currently the terminus of line 14 of the Paris Métro . It is located in the 13th arrondissement below the Rue de Tolbiac. The station was put into operation on June 26, 2007 with the extension of line 14.
The station is named after a high-rise housing estate of the same name, which is located northwest of it.
history
The Olympiades station was planned for line 14 as part of a connection between Saint-Lazare and Maison Blanche from the start of planning. When the line opened in 1998, for financial reasons, the line initially only went into operation between the Madeleine and Bibliothèque François Mitterrand stations . The structure of the Olympiades station already existed at this time, however, as there was a parking facility for the trains on line 14. Construction work for the final expansion of the station began in May 2001 and lasted six years. Although the opening was originally planned for 2006, it did not take place until June 25, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. One day later, the station was put into regular operation.

The station consists of three floors: tickets are sold on the top floor, and there is a mezzanine below. The tracks and platforms are on the lowest floor. These are separate for both directions of travel and have been provided with platform screen doors, as line 14 is operated without a driver.
