The boys saber fencing competition as part of the fencing competitions of the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires was held on the first day of the Games, October 7th, in the Africa Pavilion of the Olympic Park ( Parque Olímpico de la Juventud ).
The title was won by Krisztián Rabb from Hungary, which means that both saber fencing titles went to Hungary. In a closely contested final, he defeated the South Korean Hyun Jun . The Egyptian Mazen Elaraby secured bronze for sure against the American Robert Vidovszky . The only starter from the German-speaking area was the German Antonio Heathcock , who was eliminated in the quarter-finals against the eventual winner and ended up seventh.
