Omnia vincit amor
Omnia vincit amor , Latin for “love conquers everything”, was the motto of many knights and minstrels in the 13th and 14th centuries. The phrase is often symbolized by an A in the coat of arms or on the linen cover.
The saying goes back to a quote from Virgil's 10th Eclogue (10, 69): omnia vincit amor .
This is also often incorrectly cited as Amor Vincit Omnia .
