OmniFocus is a commercial self-management program from The Omni Group for Mac OS X and iOS . It works according to the Getting Things Done (GTD) scheme .

history

OmniFocus is the advancement of the Kinkless kGTD scripts for Omni Groups OmniOutliner . Said kinkless scripts (kGTD) were developed by Ethan JA Schoonover to extend OmniOutliner with functions of the GTD. Ultimately, the Omni Group teamed up Schoonover and Merlin Mann to develop OmniFocus.

In a comparison test of software for task management in the 12/2008 issue of MACup magazine , it came first. In addition to OmniFocus: Cultured Code Things Desktop (2nd place), Thinking Code Dejumble Beta 1.2 (3rd place) and Funky Cloud LifeShaker 1.2.3 (4th place) were tested. At Macworld 2008 , OmniFocus received the Choice Award from the online service The Mac Observer.
