One-T
One-T is a hip-hop / house project by Thomas Pieds and Eddy Gronfier from Paris , France . To this day, the project is a typical one-hit wonder with the song The Magic Key from 2003, which contains a sample from the track Ma Hra by Blue Effect from 1971.
concept
The project, founded in 2001, consists of virtual characters from a specially created comic world (similar to the Gorillaz ). All characters are 13 years old and come from different regions of the world.
- One-T , the main character of the group, is a European and a DJ .
- Cool-T is African and MC . One-T's best friend was shot dead on the street but still exists as a ghost.
- Fat-T (also Nine-T ) comes from Latin America and raps in Spanish .
- Ee is Asian and the group's singer.
Other characters are the record boss and mafioso Travoltino , the DJ Acidman , the pit bull Bull-T and E , the hacker and twin brother of Ee .
Thomas Pieds created the concept and characters of One-T, he is also responsible for the lyrics and shot the music videos. Eddy Gronfier is the producer and remixer of One-T.
history
The project had a major European hit in 2003 with The Magic Key , which reached the top of the charts in France, Germany and Denmark in particular. However, it was not able to repeat this success and is considered a one-hit wonder. In 2006 a new album was released in France and Germany, initially only as a download , later also on CD. There have been no other releases since then and not much has been heard of the project.
