Uncle Poppoff can fly on trees

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Uncle Poppoff can fly on trees is the book title of an illustrated children's story by Janosch . The book was first published by Parabel Verlag in 1964, by Domino in 1966 and, after 1972, by dtv.

action

Uncle Poppoff lives in a small white house on the edge of the forest, not far from Bobrek. He lives there with wild bees, butterflies, a medium-sized brown hare and a nuthatch. Although Uncle Poppoff is actually a very simple person, he always experiences wonderful adventures. The book tells ten independent stories in which Uncle Poppoff learns to fly and visits the castle in the air in the evening clouds, saves Bobrek and the surrounding area from flooding because he uses a little trick to get the rainy owl to let the sun shine again, gets into a gathering of scarecrows and is almost elected their king and many other episodes.

In contrast to Janosch's later works, the illustrations in the book are not colored line drawings.
