Association of German Plucked Musicians
The Bund Deutscher Zupfmusiker (BDZ) is a registered association and association of plucked orchestras , plucked ensembles and individuals interested in plucked music .
tasks and goals
The main task of the association is to maintain and promote solo and ensemble playing with plucked instruments , especially mandolin and guitar . The regional associations of the BDZ regularly conduct further training courses for instrumentalists and trainers.
history
The Bund Deutscher Zupfmusiker was founded in 1963 through the merger of the German Mandolinists and Guitarists Association (founded in 1919, mainly members from the bourgeoisie) and the German Workers Mandolinists Association (founded in 1923, mainly members from the working class). In 1968 the German Zupforchester (DZO) was founded by the BDZ on the initiative of Siegfried Behrends .
structure
The association is divided into regional associations, whose catchment areas roughly correspond to the German federal states.
Publications
The association publishes the magazine “Auftakt!” Every three to four months. Most of the regional associations also publish their own, smaller newsletters.
