Plucked music

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Zupfmusik called in German-speaking instrumental music , on plucked instruments being played. The spectrum ranges from adaptations of baroque music for mandolin , guitar and double bass for plucked orchestra to ensembles with concert zithers that perform pieces from alpine folk music and other regional folk music in Germany. Similar to string music and brass music, the term plucked music can not be clearly delineated in terms of style; the word is often part of the name of orchestras of popular popular music or classical music, which are organized in the Bund Deutscher Zupfmusiker (BDZ). Non-European and stylistically divergent music produced by other stringed instruments torn with the fingers or a plectrum is usually not included in the term.

A mixed plucked orchestra consists of several first and second mandolins, several mandolas and guitars, which are sometimes supported by double basses. The repertoire today includes classical music since the Middle Ages and new music . It has expanded significantly from its previous focus on arranged light music. There are also pure mandolin orchestras.

A guitar orchestra is an ensemble of several guitars that, as a guitar choir, expands its sound with different guitars from the guitar family (octave guitar, fifth bass, third guitar, etc.). Choirs accompanied by guitars are also known as guitar choirs.

Zither music is performed as a soloist or in the standard line-up as a quartet. Traditionally, popular popular music is played on the concert zither. In addition to Alpine folk music, the regional focus is on Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saarland, Saxony and Thuringia. In addition, a repertoire of contemporary original compositions for zither was added in the 20th century.

The plucked music is organized in the Bund Deutscher Zupfmusiker (BDZ). National and international competitions for different line-ups from orchestras to solo presentations take place regularly. Plucked musical instrumentalists also take part in competitions such as Jugend musiziert . Lessons to learn a plucked instrument are offered in music schools, clubs and by freelance and private teachers.
