ONYX Testsuite is a software for performing electronic tests based on the IMS-QTI-2.1 standard , which was developed in cooperation with the Saxon universities by the BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH.

The ONYX Testsuite enables the creation and execution of tests, exams and questionnaires on different devices and in different application scenarios. ONYX was developed as a stand-alone application, but can be fully integrated into other system environments. The ONYX Testsuite is fully integrated into the OPAL learning platform as a comprehensive e-assessment tool . The existing IMS LTI interface also enables ONYX to be integrated into other learning platforms such as Moodle or Ilias.

  • Support of a completeness check and the possibility of defining minimum and maximum attributes for the various interactions
  • Possibility to display feedback and individual assessment variables (task-specific) for the learner
  • Ability to limit retry attempts

  • Free basic version with restricted task types and functionalities
  • paid full version with access to all task types and functionalities
  • paid full version, integrated into the learning management system OPAL Learn-Cloud, with access to all types of tasks and functionalities
  • edu-sharing is license-free
