Openmatics is a telematics - platform for vehicle fleets. Openmatics sro was founded in 2010 as a subsidiary of ZF Friedrichshafen AG and is based in Pilsen in the Czech Republic . Openmatics develops and operates an open telematics platform that is independent of vehicle and component manufacturers.
The Openmatics telematics system
Openmatics is an instrument for improving fleet management and consists of four components: an on-board unit , the web portal , the software applications and the online shop . The onboard unit transmits data to and from the vehicle, so service and position data can be transmitted. The portal enables access to the received data and can be used to manage applications and vehicles. The software applications are developed by Openmatics itself or by 3rd party developers with the help of a software development kit (SDK). Application development mainly focuses on the following categories: powertrain and diagnostics, savings, fleet management, safety, entertainment and information.
