Opera slide

An opera film is an artificial horizon that is mainly used in television studios , but also very often in the theater. The term is a registered trademark of the German company Gerriets . It is a partially transparent plastic film stretched all the way around the walls of the studio. This is mostly illuminated from behind by different colored fluorescent tubes or LEDs .

Due to the lack of structure of the film, its distance to the camera in the television picture cannot be estimated, which makes the studio appear much larger. The opera film can also be used as a projection surface by pointing projectors or slide projectors at it.
