Operation Martyr Soleimani

The operation martyrs Soleimani was a military operation Iranian Revolutionary Guard on January 8, 2020, the US military in Iraq in response to the targeted killing of General Qasem Soleimani , the commander of the Quds Force , by a US drone in Baghdad . The operation consisted of 110 surface-to-surface missiles and was announced by the Iranian agency Tasnim on the same day.

Two US facilities in Iraq were hit: the Ain al-Assad military airfield in the western part of the country and the airfield in the northern Erbil province . In addition, the intention was announced to attack Israel if the United States should retaliate.
