Oracle Developer Suite

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Oracle Developer Suite was a licensed collection of development tools for database-based IT applications. It was created by Oracle Corporation . In addition to various tools, the most important components are Oracle Forms for dialog masks and Oracle Reports for reports. The current successor to the Developer Suite is the E-Business Suite .

history

In the early 1990s, Oracle had two complementary but completely different tools, SQL * Forms and SQL * ReportWriter . Both were character-based and there was an integration between the two tools, although the two were sold separately. The development environment became more and more similar over time, so they eventually merged into Oracle IDE . It was later renamed Oracle Developer and then Oracle Developer / 2000.
