Orange Beach is a city in Baldwin County in the US state of Alabama . It is located at the outflow of the Perido River from Perdido Bay into the Gulf of Mexico . The border with Florida, which begins to the east, runs in Perido Bay. Orange Beach is one of the cities connected by the coastal Gulf Intracoastal Waterway .
At the time of the 2000 census , the city had 3,784 residents on a land area of 26.9 square kilometers. The mean age was 44.2 years (US national mean: 35.3 years). The per capita income was US $ 27,082 (US national average: US $ 21,587). The income of 10.6 percent of the population was below the poverty line (US national average: 12.4 percent). 18.4 percent of the population are of English descent and 15 percent are of German descent .
Orange Beach is a major tourist destination in Alabama.
