The Orbishöhe of Auerbach and Zwingenberg is a nature reserve in Zwingenberg and Auerbach in the Bergstrasse district .

The nature reserve

The nature reserve with a size of 6.39 hectares was placed under protection in 1988.

These are parts of the district "Auf der Große Höhe" of Zwingenberg and "Im Brunnenweg" of Auerbach. It concerns the quarry area of ​​Orbishöhe and the adjoining hillside terraces and forest areas. The reason for the establishment of the nature reserve was the occurrence of several rare and threatened plant species in a unique vegetation composition ( location ).

The nature reserve is part of the FFH area 6217-305, "Kniebrecht, Melibocus u.Orbishöhe b.Seeheim-Jugenh., Alsb.u.Zwing."
