Orchestra Vienna Academy

The Vienna Academy Orchestra is an orchestra based in Vienna ( Austria ) that presents its performances in historically informed performance practice.

The orchestra was founded in 1985 by Martin Haselböck , who continues to act as its artistic director.

In addition to an annual cycle for the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in the Great Vienna Musikvereinssaal, Haselböck and his orchestra performed concert programs and opera productions in music centers around the world. Under Haselböck's direction, 60 CDs with repertoire from Bach up to the 20th century have been released. Among the awards for Haselböck's orchestral recordings are the Diapason d'or and the German Record Prize . At the Philharmonie Cologne , the Suntory Hall Tokyo and the Würzburg Mozart Festival , the Vienna Academy performed as artists in residence under Martin Haselböck.
