Order of Loyalty (Spain)

The Order of Loyalty of Valençay , also known as the Distinction Cross for Loyalty in Valençay , was a French order. The award was donated in accordance with an ordinance of August 23, 1814 by Ferdinand VII of Spain . The purpose was to honor the faithful who accompanied the king abroad and remained by his side until his return from captivity to Spain.

Order decoration

The decoration of the order had the inscription "Valençay 1808", the name of the place of residence in France, on the central shield of the cross. In the middle was a golden dog with the motto "Fides".
