Order of the blue band

The order of the blue band was the first Baden knightly order . It was donated by Margrave Ernst Friedrich von Baden-Durlach in 1584. It was an aristocratic association of Protestant nobles.

The successor Georg Friedrich renamed the order the Order of the Golden Cliff in 1608 , but the order expired after the death of its founder.
