Order of the Norwegian Lion
The Order of the Norwegian Lion was founded on January 21, 1904 on the occasion of his 75th birthday by King Oscar II of Norway . It consisted of only one class, the number of holders was limited to 12 members and was only awarded to the following people:
- King Oscar II of Norway on January 21, 1904
- Crown Prince Gustaf of Sweden and Norway on January 21, 1904
- Prince Carl of Sweden and Norway on January 21, 1904
- Prince Eugene of Sweden and Norway on January 21, 1904
- Prince Gustaf Adolf of Sweden and Norway on January 21, 1904
- Prince Wilhelm of Sweden and Norway on January 21, 1904
- Prince Erik of Sweden and Norway on January 21, 1904
- Kaiser Wilhelm II on January 27, 1904
- Emperor Franz Joseph I on April 5, 1904
- King Christian IX of Denmark on September 10, 1904
- Émile Loubet , President of the French Republic on December 1, 1904
The king was grand master of the order. After the union with Sweden was dissolved in 1905 , the order was no longer awarded.
